A wee bit about me before I start blogging properly!
I’m a Medieval History student at Glasgow, currently finishing off my M.Litt. before embarking on the PhD in October. This is equal parts exciting and terrifying! On Wednesday, I discovered that my research will be funded by the AHRC, so this seems as good a time as any to start blogging that journey.
My interests mostly lie in medieval monasticism; specifically, in how it was gendered. This means I spend a lot of time talking about how much I love Hild and hate Bede and Jerome. I’ll doubtless be talking much more about my specific research interests as this blog goes on!
I’m writing this from a room in the University of Kent, where I have had an amazing couple of days at the Lyminge Conference – I’ll be posting up my thoughts on this in a few days (assuming that this blog does indeed actually be what I intend it to, rather than yet another abandoned project!)
